A CTO is an executive role carrying specific operational liabilities. As a Technical Advisor, I operate as an independent, vendor-neutral consultant. My job is to provide you with the highest level of technical strategy and unbiased recommendations, empowering you as the business owner to make the final, informed decisions without the overhead of a C-suite executive.
Do you also build the solutions you recommend?
I can, but there is never any obligation. My advisory service is strictly unbiased. If the best solution for your business is an off-the-shelf software product, I will tell you to buy it rather than paying me to build a custom version. If you do need custom workflows or AI pipelines built, we can transition into an execution phase.
How do you charge for advisory work?
I am completely transparent about costs. My standard rate is £40 per hour. For ad-hoc advice or vendor interviews, we can work on a simple pay-as-you-go hourly basis. For ongoing strategic oversight, we can set up a monthly retainer based on an estimated block of hours so you always have guaranteed access to technical guidance.
